Salabhasana – Grasshopper Pose

Salabha means “cicada”. Salabhasana – Grasshopper Pose is based on the grasshopper resting with the legs raised. This pose stretches the legs, abdomen and lower back. It requires a considerable muscular effort.

Technique

  1. Lie in a prone position with your face down, your arms at your sides, and your palms up.
  2. Breathe in as you lift your head, chest, and legs off the ground. Raise your arms parallel to the ground. Hold for 10-20 seconds, breathing normally. Exhale as you lower your limbs.
