Salabha means “cicada”. Salabhasana – Grasshopper Pose is based on the grasshopper resting with the legs raised. This pose stretches the legs, abdomen and lower back. It requires a considerable muscular effort.
Technique
- Lie in a prone position with your face down, your arms at your sides, and your palms up.
- Breathe in as you lift your head, chest, and legs off the ground. Raise your arms parallel to the ground. Hold for 10-20 seconds, breathing normally. Exhale as you lower your limbs.
